Sono tutti con il fiato sospeso i 21 partecipanti che hanno inviato il loro progetto presso la sede del cantiere e che attendono ora il responso della giuria. Il nome del vincitore verrà reso ufficiale durante una cerimonia, il 18 gennaio in occasione del Boot di Düsseldorf.

Mentre la composizione del panel dei giurati giunge alle ultime fasi, è già possibile formulare un primo bilancio sull’esito dell’edizione 2008-2009. Cominciamo con il numero dei progetti in gara, in tutto 14, provenienti da varie parti del mondo. Una quantità più che soddisfacente se si pensa che questa iniziativa è stata inaugurata quest’anno per la prima volta e con un tema di grande complessità da svolgersi in soli tre mesi: l’intera progettazione di una barca, dallo scafo, al piano velico, dal layout degli interni a quello di coperta.

Buona anche l’affluenza di designer e studenti stranieri, quasi il 50% degli iscritti al concorso: un buon bilanciamento che dimostra come Sly sia ormai un cantiere riconosciuto a livello internazionale Paesi e che conferma ancora una volta il prestigio della nautica made in Italy.

Una nota importante, la considerazione che accanto agli studenti appaiono fra gli iscritti designer già inseriti nel mondo del lavoro, progettisti presenti in Studi specializzati che hanno trovato nel Concorso la giusta occasione per rimettersi in gioco, per creare innovazione e insieme mettersi in contatto con il Cantiere. Entusiasmo, impegno e tanta creatività: il primo screening delle tavole giunte in cantiere ha subito evidenziato la grande passione per la nautica che anima tutti questi giovani pronti a immaginare insieme a noi lo Sly de futuro.

Bene anche l’interpretazione dei temi ecologici richiesti a bando a dimostrazione di come sia un’esigenza sempre più condivisa saper progettare nella tutela dell’ambiente: ecco così proposte con pannelli solari, propulsione ibrida, materiali innovativi…Una nuova onda di sensibilizzazione che riflette la sempre più comune occorrenza di grande rispetto per la natura e amore vero per il mare.
 
Il 21 novembre il cantiere renderà ufficiali i nomi dei giurati, che procederanno così alle votazioni conclusive. Quelle che stabiliranno il primo attesissimo vincitore di Next Sly Contest.

Next Sly Contest. Creativity and enthusiasm, waiting for the winner announcement

They are all with bated breath the 21 competitors who sent their projects to the yard and are waiting now for the response of the jury. The name of the winner will be made official next 18 January during a special ceremony, on occasion of the Boot Düsseldorf.

While the composition of the Jury is at its last stage, it is already possible to express a first balance of this edition. The 21 competitors designed and presented 14 projects, coming form all over the world. This is a great result if we consider the very short time granted to the designers: only three months for the total design of a boat, from the hull to the sail plan, from the interior layout to the deck plan.

The good affluence of designers and students coming from foreign countries, almost 50%, shows again how Sly is considered an international trend setter in the nautical field, qualifying itself, as a worldwide point of reference, symbol of the research talent and the excellence of the made in Italy in the world.
 
It is important to point out that not only students are in the list of competitors, but also graduated designers, already working for specialized offices, who found in the Contest the opportunity to put themselves at stake, to create innovation, to get in touch with the Yard. Enthusiasm, passion and creativity: the first screening of the designs, highlights the great fervour that all the participants lavished, imagining with us the Sly if the future.

Also the interpretation of the ecological subjects, requested in the competition rules, was very good and a proof of a more and more shared need of designing, keeping in mind the environmental protection: so we got proposals with sun panels, hybrid propulsion, innovative materials. This is a new wave of sensibility that reflects the common need for respect of nature and love for sea.

The jury members, their names will be official on the 21st of November, have now the important commitment of examining the projects with care and choose who will win this edition of the Next Sly Contest.

Grande successo per la prima edizione di Next Sly Contest: il concorso, ideato da Sly Yachts, si è chiuso ieri, registrando ben 44 concorrenti, provenienti da tutto il mondo.

In attesa dell’arrivo dei progetti, per cui la scadenza è il 31 ottobre, sarà possibile consultare il minisito dell’iniziativa ancora accessibile dalla home page di www.sly-yachts.com.

Nei prossimi giorni una speciale area del sito verrà dedicata a tutti i dettagli di questa prima edizione,  all’avanzamento dei lavori, e alla convocazione della giuria.

Vi ricordiamo, inoltre, che la premiazione e l’annuncio ufficiale del vincitore avverranno in occasione del Boot di Dusseldorf.

Entries to the Next Sly Contest closed on the 30th of September

Great success for the first edition of Next Sly Contest: the competition promoted by Sly Yachts was closed yesterday, registering 44 competitors coming from all over the world.

Meanwhile the projects arrive (deadline on 31st of October), it is still possible to check the contest website from the home page of www.sly-yachts.com

In the next days a special area dedicated to the contest will show all the details about this first edition, the work in progress and the holding of the jury.
 
The prize giving and the official announcement of the winner will take place at the Boot Düsseldorf.

Ultimissimi giorni per iscriversi a Next Sly Contest 2008, il concorso rivolto a giovani designer che premierà il progetto più brillante e la migliore interpretazione dello "Sly del futuro".

Il concorso ha registrato finora almeno 30 concorrenti provenienti da tutti i paesi europei, a conferma del grande successo riscosso dall'iniziativa a livello internazionale. Il tema di questa edizione è la progettazione di un'imbarcazione a vela destinata al charter, di lunghezza compresa tra i 14 e i 16 metri. Ai giovani concorrenti è richiesta creatività, ma anche la capacità di interpretare al meglio i temi che più stanno a cuore al cantiere: ecologia, innovazione, grinta, ma anche divertimento e amore per il mare. Alla fine di ottobre verrà convocata la giuria che, come annunciato, sarà composta da un panel internazionale di giornalisti, tecnici e rappresentanti del cantiere.

Next Sly Contest, last days
Last days to enter the "Next Sly Contest", the competition promoted by Sly Yachts to award young designers for the most brilliant idea and interpretation of the "Next Sly" yacht.

The contest has now 30 competitors coming from all over Europe as a confirmation of the international great success achieved by this project. The theme for the first year of the competition is to design a charter sailboat between 14 and 16 meters long. The young competitors will have to show creativity and capacity of best playing at best the themes that Sly values most: ecology, innovation, grit, fun and love for sailing. As announced,  at the end of October the contest organization will hold the jury, which will be composed by an international panel of journalists, experts and representatives of the yard.

Venerdì 25 Luglio, al largo della Corsica, è stato recuperato con successo lo Sly 47 “See you later”. Una volta a terra, la barca è stata immediatamente visionata e ispezionata dai tecnici del cantiere, che si sono recati sul posto per approfondire quanto accaduto durante la Giraglia Rolex Cup.

Fin dalle prime verifiche è apparsa evidente la bontà della laminazione dello scafo. I carotaggi effettuati sullo stesso hanno infatti dato esiti del tutto positivi e conformi al progetto, che risulta eseguito a regola d’arte.

Gli sviluppi delle ricerche continueranno a essere comunicati su questo blog, nel costante desiderio di fare chiarezza sull’incidente e dare le massime garanzie sul nostro prodotto.

Sly 47 “See you later” has been recovered

On Friday the 25th of July, off Corsica, the Sly 47 “See you later” was successfully recovered. Once ashore she has been immediately examined by professionals of the yard in order to study in depth what happened during the Giraglia rolex Cup.

Since the first inspections it appeared evident that the hull lamination was excellent: the logs made on it gave positive results according to the project, which was well done.

The developments of this research will be communicated on this blog, since we whish to clear up the accident and  give the best warranty of our products for the safety of our customers.

Continuano le iscrizioni al Next Sly Contest. A quaranta giorni dall’apertura ufficiale sono già molte le adesioni da tutta Europa per il concorso promosso e organizzato da Sly Yachts che premierà le migliori idee e i progettisti più innovativi del settore nautico.

Il concorso rivolto a giovani designer laureati e studenti ha ora all’attivo una ventina di concorrenti, provenienti da molti paesi (Gran Bretagna, Francia, Olanda, Italia…). Una conferma che fin dal primo momento la competizione ha raccolto un forte interesse non solo in Italia, ma anche all’estero.

Young designers on the wave of innovation

Forty days after the official opening, from all over Europe are coming the many entries for the Next Sly Contest, the first competition promoted by Sly Yachts with the aim of singling out the best ideas and most innovative designers in the boating sector.

The contest, that calls on students and degree-holding designers, has already twenty competitors, coming form different countries (United Kingdom, France, Holland, Italy…). A confirmation that the international scope of the contest achieved a widespread success, not only here, but also abroad.

The theme for the first year of the competition is to design a charter sailboat between 14 and 16 meters long. To the young competitors will be requested creativity and the capacity of best playing the themes that Sly values the most: ecology, innovation, grit, fun and love for sailing.
 
Next Sly Contest will award the one who will conceive the Sly of the future, a boat marked out by the same concept that represents the force of the brand: a perfect mix between beauty and speed, performances and cruising, technology and passion.
