Dalla proprietà ai dipendenti, in tanti stiamo regatando con uno Sly, pronti a cambiare tattica a ogni giro di vento. Siamo partiti da Rio de Janeiro pochi giorni fa, qualcuno con un po’ di ritardo. Ma c’è chi si sta posizionando bene. Per vedere la nostra classifica basta cercarci: tutti i nostri nomi hanno la parola sly davanti…(sly factor, sly junior, sly force one, sly me baby, sly forever…). E possono sempre aggiungersene altri…magari anche tu.

Sly shipyard is taking part with a whole fleet to the Volvo Ocean Race Game. The interactive game by Volvo has captured us. From the owners to the employees, many of us are racing with a Sly, ready to change strategy every change of wind. We started in Rio de Janeiro a couple of days ago, somebody was in late…but somebody is reaching a good position. To see our classification you should only search us: all our names have the sly word behind…(sly factor, sly junior, sly force one, sly me baby, sly forever…). And they can also become many more…you too.

C’è un’altra novità che riguarda Sly 61, questa volta sottocoperta. Il lavoro di ricerca e sviluppo sulla nuova ammiraglia ha portato a soluzioni del tutto innovative anche nella scelta dei materiali per gli interni.
Per ricavare una consistente riduzione del peso dell’imbarcazione si è scelto di sperimentare, al posto del multistrato marino, un nuovo legno alleggerito, che rappresenta una novità assoluta nel settore nautico. I pannelli in sandwich utilizzati da Sly per gli arredi hanno un peso di 6,5 kg/m2 su una lista di 18mm di spessore.  Ne risulta un risparmio di carico pari al 30% in meno. Questa soluzione con molta probabilità verrà adottata anche sulle prossime imbarcazioni.

Light materials for the new admiral

There is a news on Sly 61, below deck. The research and development work on the new admiral led us to absolutely innovative solutions for the choice of interior materials.
To obtain a consistent reduction of the boat weight, we decided to test, instead of the normal marine multilayer, a new light wood, which represents a news in the nautical sector. The new sandwich panel used by Sly for the furniture have a weight of 6,5 6,5 kg/m2  in a 18mm thick stripe. The result is a weight saving of almost 30%. This solution will be probably adopted in the next Sly yachts.

Il singolare bimini top di Sly 42 fun è stato oggetto di studi e miglioramenti nel corso dell’ultimo anno. Dopo la prima fase di progettazione sperimentata sul prototipo, la costante ricerca sul prodotto ha portato all’attuale tendalino recessato in coperta, non più elettrico, ma manuale.
La necessità di un meccanismo semplice e robusto, facilmente azionabile, ha condotto a un sistema comandato con semplici molle a gas, che consente la traslazione del bimini in pochissimi minuti senza alcun consumo di energia elettrica.
L’impatto estetico resta è del tutto ridotto sia negli esterni che all’interno: il bimini viene azionato in pozzetto e sollevato dal suo alloggiamento, dove poi rientrerà automaticamente. La maggiore innovazione, riguarda gli interni: tutti i meccanismi, infatti, sono nascosti nei paramare e non vanno in alcun modo a invadere gli spazi sotto coperta.
Questi miglioramenti studiati in collaborazione con lo studio RBuno di Rimini sono già visibili sugli scafi realizzati nel 2008 e presto anche sul nuovissimo sly 61. Si tratta di un sistema studiato per elevare al massimo il grado di comfort sulle nostre imbarcazioni da crociera. Ogni armatore amante della comodità avrà così ombra e riparo dall’umidità, senza procedimenti complicati e alcun tipo ingombro.

Let’s go on innovation way: a new realization of the foldaway bimini top

The peculiar Sly 42 fun bimini top has been object of studies and improvements during the last year. After the first planning phase on the prototype, the continuous research&development work on the product has  lead  to the actual deck housed bimini, which is not more electrical but manual.
The need of a simple strong mechanism, easy to control, has driven to a simple gas springs system, which lets the bimini move in few minutes and without power consumption.
The aesthetic impact is very low, both in the interior and in the exteriors: the bimini can be moved in the cockpit and brought up from its housing, where it stays normally. The best innovation, regards the interiors: in fact, all the mechanisms are hidden in the roof and it doesn’t invade the area below deck.
These improvements, studied in collaboration with RBuno from Rimini, are already visible in the last hulls, from 2008 and will be visible very soon in the new sly 61. This idea has been developed in order to elevate the comfort in our cruising boats. Every owner, who loves  relax, will get shadow and humidity repair, without any complex work and type of encumbrance.
